I inherited the DNA FX quiz from the previous Content Marketing Manager at Passion Digital, who had tastefully brought the initial content idea to life. To help spread the word about this personality quiz for forex traders, I was tasked with generating 40 high-quality backlinks to the DNA FX quiz from online finance publications.
To kick off the outreach process, I wrote an email template introducing the DNA FX quiz to potential partner publications. This resulted in the initial coverage for this brand new hero content asset. From there, however, it didn’t take long before the personality quiz went viral.
Due to the popularity of the hero content asset and the success of the initial outreach, the DNA FX quiz has now received a whopping 12.4K backlinks from 331 referring domains*, making our target of 40 backlinks look pale in comparison. What’s more, the quiz has seen a steady increase in organic keywords and traffic which continues to this day. Inspired by the success of the DNA FX quiz, I wrote an award entry and submitted it to The Drum Content Awards. Much to our delight, the DNA FX quiz ended up winning the Best Financial Services Content Marketing Campaign Award at The Drum Content Awards 2020. It truly was the cherry on the cake for everyone who'd been involved.
